## Prepare a quiet room

A calm space with a resting place, litter tray and water can make the first days
easier. Let the kitten decide when to leave the carrier and explore. There is no
need to introduce the entire home immediately.

## Gather the essentials

Prepare stable food and water bowls, a litter tray, familiar litter, a scratching
post and a secure carrier. Ask the breeder for the current food and litter names.
Choose toys without small parts that detach easily.

## Check windows and hiding places

Check secure window protection and put away exposed cables, cleaning products and
small objects. An ordinary insect screen is not designed to support a cat’s weight.
Block dangerous gaps and access to tilted windows.

## Allow time to settle

Introduce children and other animals gradually under supervision. Keep a calm routine
and let the kitten choose when to interact.

## Keep useful information nearby

Write down the breeder’s guidance, the familiar routine and your veterinary clinic’s
contact details. Discuss individual health and nutrition questions with a professional.

## Start with the route

Tell the breeder your destination and preferred dates. Routes to Moscow, Saint Petersburg,
Nizhny Novgorod and other cities are discussed individually, depending on transport
availability and carrier requirements.

## Agree on responsibilities

Before booking, agree who will buy tickets, prepare the carrier, accompany the kitten
and meet them on arrival. Delivery costs are calculated separately; there is no 
single nationwide price.

## Check carrier requirements

Confirm animal transport rules, carrier specifications and required documents with
the chosen carrier before purchasing tickets. Requirements may differ from someone
else’s past experience.

## Prepare for arrival

Exchange contact details, confirm the meeting point and plan the trip home. Have
familiar food and litter, water and a quiet resting place ready.

## Start with your everyday life

Think about how much time you spend at home, whether you have children or other 
animals, and the temperament you hope for. Tell the breeder about your family: a
photograph catches your eye, while a conversation helps you find a good match.

## Meet the kitten

Ask for recent photographs and videos showing everyday play and interaction, and
discuss a video call. One short clip cannot tell the whole story, so ask about the
kitten’s habits too.

## Ask about pedigree and paperwork

Discuss the parents, cattery registration and the documents supplied with the kitten.
Agree on the contract, price, reservation terms and deposit refund conditions before
paying. Parents’ titles do not replace getting to know the individual kitten.

## Plan the move

Ask about familiar food and litter, a possible moving date and who will arrange 
the journey. Discuss veterinary questions, examinations and vaccinations with the
breeder and a veterinarian.
